A few things…
I woke up this morning and it was misty and foggy. It has continued like this all day…but in the morning, I got out for a few hours to take photo. I thought the sun would burn it all away.
I’ve been feeding the fireplace all day but I still have a chill.
The woman that owns the little house where I am staying came over to invite me for a drink at 7…and asked me what time I was leaving tomorrow…It took me a few minutes but I thought I better look at my reservation…It seems that I made a mistake and only booked through tomorrow. I thought that I leave here on Monday. I probably could stay another day, but I was able to book the next place for an additional day, so it all worked out. It seems easier to just stay here but I will move on and have a little bit more time in a different area. BTW…it is not unusual for me to bungle details. I tend to miss the trees for the forest.
I love the fireplace here. There is tons of woods…the woods are just open to fell trees and take away…I am guessing you have to have a permit . I realize how much I prefer the wood stove….much lead mess and less fear as it is enclosed. I had a hell of a time getting it started. I went into the woods 2 days ago and got kindling.
The woods are glorious. Today, in the fog, I went up in and spent some time taking photos. I saw a green tree and wanted to get closer to it as it was the only one. As I got closer, a big boar got up under it…and hightailed it. He had such a nice spot and I disturbed him. I didn’t see any sign of hunters except the tall chairs/platforms they have for hunters. It was nice walking in the woods and not being afraid of getting shot. I still don’t know the name of the predominant trees…there are some birch and the green tree was holly…all bristly and stiff leafed.
The water is off here. Is it soft or hard or something else. My hair is a disaster. I forgot conditioner and went one day with hair just washed…oh it was mad! ,,,in all kinds of directions it was going. It didn’t know whether to be straight or wavy. It was embarrassing.
Supermarkets…I realize how spoiled I am where I live…They are terrible here. It's a small thing I know. They have crappy Intermarche and Aldi and Lidl…the worst. I did find a big Carrefour that was ok but it was aways away. I was able to find the very last hot water bottle they had…a small one for 5.99. It makes me wonder if I spend too much time in the supermarket. During Covid it was the only thing we could do. I am sure I am a bit traumatized by the whole Covid thing. Here, we could only go 1K from the house and with a printed out pass (attestation) for the police in case I was stopped. I had to have it too to go to the supermarket and you had to go to the supermarket closest to you. Let's hope that nonsense never comes back.
