Saint Conrad of Parzham

Born in 1818...lay German Franciscan brother. He was a "porter" which is a monk who deals with the public. All of the other monks keep away from people.

He was big into the Blessed Virgin and his rosary. He was sent to Altotting in Bavaria and eventually became a porter. It was a difficult task as the town was large and he had lots of people to deal with. ..he excelled in the role for 40 years. He was reputed to be able to read peoples hearts and was attributed with the gift of prophesy. He was thought to never rest as he was always worshipping when not being a porter. He was said to have had "heroic virtue

( who knew>.  Heroic virtue is a phrase coined by Augustine of Hippo to describe the virtue of early Christian martyrs and used by the Catholic Church. The Greek pagan term hero described a person with possibly superhuman abilities and great goodness, and "it connotes a degree of bravery, fame, and distinction which places a man high above his fellows".[1] The term was later applied to other highly virtuous persons who do extraordinary good works.Heroic virtue is one of the requirements for beatification in the Catholic Church. The modern process for declaring heroic virtue is internal to the church and conducted by those in senior positions.[citation needed] )

He died in 1894 at the friary.
