In process

colors are cold here as I shot them in the shade...but in the sun, the colors pop.

1) tall and thin...20" x 40" ...I bought this canvas to work on eventually but I thought I would try to work on it and photograph it like I do with the mixed media photographs. ( see the first pic, it is a detail)...slowly I have been adding to it...it is different than my usual paintings. I am trying to get out of the rut of paiting the same paiting over and over.

This painting ( below)  has been in process for awhile. It started at one thing and suddenly, I saw the moon coming through the branches of a tree. I set up a dilemma for myself as I need to figure out how to make the lit area recede so you see that the moon is lighting it up come. Don't pay attention to the color of that area and of the moon. I paint over and over so that in the end, there is deep color underneath. It's getting there. It helps to look at it small  like this.
