Not to worry…the blog will continue and has no end at this point until I feel Chapter 13 is upon me and I start over.
I have been thwarted by technology at every turn. My laptop was on molasses mode all of the trip. I really couldn’t work editing photographs. Now that I am home, my wifi is out.
(not sure I can get this post on the blog at all) I should have a patch up solution today and be able to post some new photos.
My last day was yesterday. I was in Champagne sur Oise…It was not near enough time to get to know this area made famous by the Impressionists. I drove down every backroad I could find and saw some beautiful sites. It is super foggy there in the morning till about noon. Perhaps it’s a time of year thing. As the fog burned off, the sun would shoot beams through it and the blue sky would start to push it down. It felt like the fog was light blue..
I realize that, often, I am experiencing things that my camera cannot capture. I end up disappointed in the photos as I didn’t capture what I am seeing and feeling…the awe of it.This is one reason why I do the blurry photos as they capture more of what I am feeling. I realize the reaction of some people to the “impressions”…some people just don’t like them. I think, for some people, there is an aversion to not having something in detail to grasp. For a long time I have kept these type of images somewhat on the back shelf. I do shoot this way all of the time. I will see a scene ( pull the car over on whatever shoulder I am offered) shoot it straight, for maximum detail, old school. like I was taught, but then I apply the blur technique for 20 or so frames in different ways. I will post a photo of a forest scene where you can see the 2. I love the impression much more than the classic in focus image. It gets closer to expressing the light and the color…also the feeling of what I am seeing.
Maybe it is a left, brain right brain type of thing for a viewer.
stay tuned!
