I say semi because in reality, we are living in the 20th century here.
When I returned from my trip, my internet was off. I could see it had been off for about 6 days. I got back on a Tuesday, Orange ( my carrier) could not get out till Thursday. As it turns out, someone "stole!" my fiber line, stolen by another carrier....they did it in 3 places!!!!! all down the street, in other words, a through job. The technician was mighty annoyed to have to deal with it. He was afraid of Rune and Rune was going crazy, being ignored. We went back and forth from pole to house...a bit of a walk, close past bee boxes ( they are not very active cause it's cold) . It took the guy 4 hours to get it back up. Orange told me that they would return on friday to fix the rest...they never came.
Look at that mess! So annoyed. My connection to most of humanity relies on the thinnest of wires in this jumbled mess. The 2nd photo shows my line. The black encasement wedged in between the pole and the dirt is what holds my connection together.
I am told that there is a limited number of fiber lines in this area and in order for someone to get on fiber now, they have to take someone off. This is a problem.
On top of it is my inability to communicate 100%. I am at about 60%. No one really cares...that is the attitude of companies here. They do the minimal.
I depend on the internet for work and for communication and company. It makes me worry.
