Patton, Liberty Road

I happened to run into this in my travels. I am a WW1 and 2 buff so had to stop and take a look. You see monuments all over France like this. The French really do love Americans. I can tell you that from experience .

Driving through the small villages in rural France it is like nothing has changed in a hundred years...no influx of commercialism, for the most part. I can imagine the American G.I.'s ( boys) walking through these old stone towns, voices echoing,  bringing freedom and liberation for the people to return to their lives without threat of war. How the people must have loved them.

I will never lose my patriotism nor my love of my country although I fear it is in serious decline. Not sure I will ever go back.

Liberated the 17th of August 1944.
