Amazing Roman History

Dating back to the first century. B.C. , made up of groups of gold thread links, twisted into "eights", joined together by a connecting thread in which a bead is inserted. Adorned with a lunula pendant, the necklace is closed by a bezel containing a rough cabochon-cut emerald. It was found, together with other jewels, near a female skeleton.

This was on Instagram....My life has been wasted....why am I not working on a dig some where?

Oplontis....don't go as I want it to remain empty. ( in Torre El Greco) I saw this fresco...plastic wrap over a seafood bounty... !
Oplontis is very close to Herculeum...it was empty when Vesuvius blew. There had been an earthquake a few years before so Oplontis was under construction at the time. My brain ( and spirit ) hurts from the desire to immerse totally in this subject.
