S. Peter of Verona

 April 29

1205-1252..

an inquisitor and martyr...born in Verona...his parents were "Catharists"...( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catharism...interesting...two opposing deities...dualities..

Lots of Cathar castles in Langudoc...southern France...kind of west of Marseilles. Check out Carcassone...I stayed there one night on my way back from the west coast.

back to Peter..he was educated Catholic and went to the University in Bologna ( an interesting place! check out the super old operating theater that you can visit) https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/anatomical-theatre-of-the-archiginnasio

Peter became a Dominican in Bologna...He was appointed an inquisitor and went off to Lombardy to Inquire, a Cathar area...and that didn't go over well.

At 46 he was assassinated by a Cathar rebel on his way to Milan from Lake Como ( not on the train!) . He was way to vocal and questioning.

He is the Patron Saint of Inquisitors.
