Palermo / Archeology Museum

There are some really exciting things here. I am so glad I made it. ...I seem to be running " from pillar to post" as they say...on this trip. I am still getting things done that I wanted to...so there is that.

For me, the visit was all about Selinute...the archeological (Greek) site I will see in a few days. Amazing artifacts to see here.

There was a video of how these lions were unearthed that I took some snaps of...can you imagine coming upon them....there are many, maybe 30. ( around 500 BC will update this info when I get a chance. I bought the museum book)

here you see them just unearthed.

little devotional icons...

I believe this is the Emperor Claudius....very large stature

This is one scene in the Metopes on the temple of Selinute...Larger than life sized...all greek mythology...here some guy is ripped apart by dogs...

one of the lions...they are all different.

Love this "stele".
