Rainy evening in Palermo, what better thing to do but go on a street food tour. Our guide was born and raised in Palermo, his name was Salvatore, named after his grandfather. The first place we went was called FUD where we had a glass of Spumante and he showed us how to do a special Sicilian toast.
The restaurant had everything english but all was spelled as Italians would pronounce, literally, englsh words..hence, FUD for food...everything there was misspelled...but what about the food you wonder...well, I did not look at the menu to see what they had.
We had a chick pea flour appetizer that I loved...like socca in france...but many people didn't like it. Maybe it was the deep frying in sunflower oil.

Then we went to the next stop, a bakery in in Vuccaro...a very old one. There we had a Sicilian foccaccia that I didn't particularily like...like saw dust.

| Here was some kind of ham and cheese thing fried...more and more fried. |
Lastly we had Gelato..no photo but in Sicily, they have a way to eat Gelato that is interesting. I tried it...They take a brioche, slice it in half and put 2 scoops of ice cream in it. I had chocolate orange and cheesecake...I was told you must always get 2 and different when you order Gelato. It was good, kind of like an ice cream sandwich. I had gelato all over me which was not surprising.
It was a good tour.,..
