Breakfast at Villa Anita

A lovely place with a very gracious host with an amazing life and family as attested to by a million photos including her wedding photos in B&W...so elegant. I like this place and she is really nice but I realized I am getting Madeline La Barge vibes with the antiques...I keep looking for the chair that I am not allowed to sit in or the room you can't go in.

Adele, a woman in her 7o's has a lovely smile and is so friendly, but she speaks almost no english so there will be no conversations with her...a let down for me. ( I really should speak Italian)..She looks and dresses like a sophisticated northern Italian, hair done, head band, make up, pearls, scarf, blazer colors of beige or blue.  I will have to look down to see her shoes....You can see by the photos she has a very large family. I spied her husband who doesn't want to be seen. He seemed interesting to me...he looked like an intellectual. There are a million books here....very cool old maps of Italy.

There seems to be history here but I don't know what it is. The area is very flat farm land criss crossed by narrow roads with no shoulders but ditches for drainage along them...This house is surrounded by its own woods but you can hear the traffic on the roads all around. It's so peaceful. I saw many pheasants and 2 rabbits. There are supposed to be deer there as well and other animals but the lovely property feels completely hemmed in by the traffic.

She had laid out the usual spread that the Italians offer you for breakfast, but I'm not eating carbs or sugar so each morning she fried me 2 perfectly cooked eggs.

I would go back there except I was completely frustrated by the roads...no where to pull over to take any photos. ..it's just a maze of roundabouts as well.
