  The White House, Italian Style

It’s not worth mentioning the drive except to say it was long and I stopped just to look at the map…no panini!, too fattening.  I will say that there is something wrong with the rental car…the steering jerks a bit to the left…
It was starting to get dank and I am a bit lost off the highway and I stress and then I talk myself down. I use map quest at that point and it gets me there.
Humorously, I asked my phone, "Siri, directions to The Casa Blanc " ( White House),,,He translated from the Italian and told me that he couldn't give me directions but told me it was about 4000 miles west as the crow flies! I SAY...MAKE SURE TO VOTE!

So I arrive, the gates open, I am greeted by a short, stocky barking black lab named Barney who I instantly adored. She was like a bowling ball running at you…I could imagine my feet being knocked out from under me by her…
An old crabby man came out and gave me a jumble of Italian and I deciphered “Bookings?” I had booked through Bookings.com…It was a small place…how many people were they expecting? The woman came out, no english or french, no problem for me. She was kind of eh! She did light up when she told me about the 9 kitten that were running around like maniacs. Poor Barney was petrified of them. She would have liked to have played but she must have gotten swiped too many times. The tiniest of the litter taunted her sideways with a hunched up back..cats!!
She showed me the room, which was fine. I had a good night sleep,
In the morning, I planned to get up early and take photos but it was raining and dark. I decided to just load up the car and get on the road…I thought she would hear me and come forth with the promised breakfast but I loaded the car and had to knock for her to come out with the promised, which I knew I wouldn’t eat..I could see Barney  at her feet behind her fighting to get out from her very low perch, but she blocked her, You can see the photo. I only ate the yogurt.
I did get to say goodbye to Barney eventually as they let her out into the yard.. I was tempted to sneak her into the car.
Lastly, I would mention the decoration…so much stuff in a massive room…The kicker was a rounded glass cabinet, ( antique) stuffed to the gills with frilly dolls…I hate dolls.
Barney was the best and friendliest thing about that place..
