Tuscany

 I am planning a new trip to Tuscany coming up in May. I am trying to do it differently...trying to do it MORE inexpensively ( I always go with prices as low as I can. This time I'm not going to Florence although it could cost the same amount to stay in Florence as it would to stay outside. I would save $ on not shopping...but even there I don't splurge.

Day I found this cool place but the parking might be an issue.There is a patisserie next door where you have free breakfast.

It's inside a town that I drive by all of the time. I can always take the train in to Florence. Usually I stay in the countryside but I thought I would give this a shot.

DAY 1 I also decided to not kill myself on the way there. I booked a 66$ a night hotel on the sea in Liguria, west of Genoa. It is 2 1/2 hours from Nice...Then, I will get up early and get to Stalieno...the big cemetery in Genoa where I love to take photos...That will cut that big drive up...

DAY 2 and 3..Then I am going to Berceto...about 3 hours from Genoa ( south of Parma) . ..a place called La Ghiandaia...

very remote $70 a night including breakfast. 2 nites.

DAY 4....I have to find a place around Parma as I need to spend one day in Parma.

DAY 5 and 6 TBD

DAY 7, 8 and 9 at this Albergo in Borgo San Lorenzo ( this town had massive floods last month.

then south to Norcia, or I hope...flower fields. I have been trying to get there for a long time. I will miss the cornflowers ( July) but will see the Poppies. It is kind of near Assisi, just east.
