I think it is called La Vall Agriturismo. It's owned by a very resourceful woman...but it all is a bit sketchy...her sister lives in the house below...there are many dogs...1 friendly one I like, Blue...border collie type. Anyway, the woman has this beautiful property with bees, with cherry trees, an olive grove, vines...She has one room that she lets out that she has fixed up really nicely...
She made me dinner the first night ( l ready posted) We talked about a range of topics...She reminds me of an old friend from Rufina that passed many years ago now, but a younger version. As it turns out, her husband was a nature/landscape photographer and has now passed. He created a few books...some macro work of insects...also birds and the like...
I didn't ask her how he died. My overabundance of empathy stopped me...My brain thinks that it is best not to bring up the grief...I know it is debate able ...talk about it or not...maybe someone would prefer to tell the story than to keep it bottled up...I wanted to know, but I didn't want to cause pain...I know how the thought of something painful in the past can grab ahold of a day and how the tears can still come.
and she is a bit standoffish in an odd way..
either way...this place ( property) is beautiful but I don't really like...ants...noise, mold!. Yesterday I came back early and wanted to sit quietly for awhile, read, write, think...but there was a children's party...7 year olds...till dark...I stayed in the room.
Also, the drive in is on this dirt road for about 2 miles...really bad road in parts and I worry about the rental car.
I was surprised what she charged me when I left...25 euro for dinner...7 euro for wine and tax on top...I just think that was too much to charge me. I had a better meal th day before for 10 euro.
and if you think this experience was going to pass me by on this trip...no...I had it. I took a shower this morning and the water went over the lip of the shower floor and all over the bathroom floor. I just took a regular shower...perhaps this is why where is mold...but, I didn't see any...you can smell it though. I had to use towels to sop up the water...so annoying when this happens. It happens at least once to me in Italy on each trip.
I hate that she gouged me at the end.
Blue with 4 hens. |
I wanted to sit out here and read...imagine 10 screaming kids and their parent instead....also, there are lots of mosquitos. |
