In the woods today I ran into 2 lost older men. They were looking at a map trying to figure out their route...They hailed me and asked me how to find their way to a certain trail. It took me a moment to figure out the way...A woman appeared that was with them...she heard me talking and was a bit in shock...listening to me speak french...I have to double check right and left to make sure I am right.
I got the feeling they weren't believing me or were tired of me trying to figure it out and the one man said, hiking stick held high! "That's alright, Mama!" I think my head turned to the side like a dogs does when it hears an odd sound...huh? Mama? ( see the attached video of the song I am sure this man was thinking of...who doesn't like some 1968 Elvis Comeback special?
I think they went off on some other direction where I know they will come to a dead end. Funny thing is, I knew exactly where they needed to go had they given me a minute...they thought I was just some flighty woman walking their dog but they did not know of my American Indian skills in the woods.
