Some beautiful things I have seen recently..

things that my camera cannot capture...

1) Coming back from the supermarket today, 2 perfect mallard ducks flew across my car. Had I not had a windshield, I could have touched them both. They were so very perfect...so clean with that gorgeous emerald color on their body and their orange feet. It was like slo mo....they were planning on landing in the little creek on the other side of the road and dared it by flying slow across the road to get there...

It was amazing how close they were...orange legs and feet put out ready to land.

2) There is a field near me that is now getting bright, impossible green...a few purple anemones have bloomed there...Everytime I drive by I love to see the colors, the bright green,  the large purple cups with their black centers. I wish I could crawl in under the barrier to photograph it but the owner has 2 Malinois and I am terrified of them. In this same field there are peonies coming up...Here, the agricoles, tend to grow them in a wild field...this year they are surrounded by borage with it's lovely blue.

3) Driving to Antibes, along the sea, I witnessed a turquoise sea with big storm waves...grey skies...everyday that glorious sea is different...this time, add a sailboat with black sails sailing parallel to the shore. Having spent so many years in a sailboat, I knew how if felt to be there. on that boat...the splash, the color, the tilt...being soaked...probably cold but so alive...

5) I will add this one tiny thing I saw...driving back to my house on a kind of inbetween unpopulated road, I spotted the tiniest of sneakers...just one, red, with a velcro strap closing. It had to have been for a tiny baby. I had the visual of a baby sitting in a car seat in the back of the car, the window open, mother driving, harried...The baby wiggles the sneaker off and chucks it out of the window with glee!!! Oh what fun.   And there the shoe sat on the side of the road...at home the mother looked everywhere for that damned sneaker...it's our little secret, the baby and I....or, the mother just left it on the roof of the car and drove off.

4) St Paul today in misty rain. I phone but nothing like it really looked.
